Pistachio rises on fall in supply

Pistachio prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today following increased buying by retailers and stockists amidst fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Prices of pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 1,380-1,450 and Rs 1,500-1,530 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid restricted supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices at the dry fruit market here.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 22,300, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,300-8,400; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,200-6,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-25,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 770-790 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 650-750 per kg.
