Pistachio rises on increased buying; tight supply

Pistachio prices edged up by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today on the back of increased buying by retailers and stockists amidst fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Prices of pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 1,380-1,450 and Rs 1,500-1,530 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices at the dry fruit market here.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 22,300, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 9,600-9,900; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,700-6,900; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-20,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 765-785 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 700-800 per kg.
