Pistachio rises on stockists buying

In thin trading, pistachio prices rose at the wholesale dry fruits market today on the back of pick stockists buying driven by pick up in demand from retailers.
Traders said pick up in demand from retailers along with higher advice from producing regions mainly led to the rise in pistachio prices.
In the national capital, Pistachio Irani, Hairati and Peshwari were up by Rs 30 each to Rs 1,220-1,270, Rs 1,310-1,360 and Rs 1,485-1,560 per kg respectively.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 18,200, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,000-8,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,600-4,800; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 635-655 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-540 per kg.
