A pistol and a revolver were found missing from the Central Ordnance Depot (COD) here, police said today.
Lt Col Ramendra Singh of the Central Ordnance Depot filed a complaint at Rail Bazar police station yesterday that a pistol and a revolver had gone missing from its arsenal, a police spokesperson said.
He said the incident came to the fore during counting of the stock.
Circle Officer of Cantonment area Sushil Dhule said, "The disappearance of a pistol and revolver from the COD is a serious matter. A committee has been formed, which is probing the matter."
Sources say that it is the handiwork of some employee of the depot as no outsider can gain entry into the arsenal.
