The president of the state IAS officers body made this demand after meeting Chief Secretary S P Singh.
"B P Acharya IAS, the Association President, while submitting a representation to the chief secretary, has requested that the investigation be entrusted to a woman officer not below the rank of an IG," a state government release said.
Acharya thanked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the chief secretary for their prompt action in the incident, it said.
A police investigation into the incident was initiated, following which the MLA was arrested yesterday and later released on bail.

The association also submitted a resolution adopted by it on the incident to the chief secretary.
"The chief secretary listened to the issue and thanked all for showing solidarity with the officer. He said that the government will take action according to law.
"He also said that women should be respected in the society and government will set up an institutional mechanism to prevent such incidents in future by setting up a grievance redressal cell," it added.
