The 30-year-old actress, who is playing a protective mother of emperor Ashoka on the show, said she was sceptical to take up the character as it needed high emotions.
"I was apprehensive initially about the role. I am playing something like this for the first time. It is very tricky because if you do overacting to bring you emotions, you will be easily caught," Pallavi said at the launch of the show in Karjat, where it is being shot.
"I feel Siddharth made my role easy. The child is a brilliant actor and has a better future. I am actually blessed to have an on-screen son like him who gave me a conviction to play a mother," she said.
The Marathi-actress, who was last seen in a guest appearance in mythological show Mahabharat, said she found it tough to master the language.

"The only flaw I had was to speak the language. I am not very good with pure Hindi which has many Sanskrit words. I played a cameo in Mahabharat and it was just three-four scenes," she said.
Asked if she is choosy about her roles, Pallavi, who is returning to a full-fledged role in Hindi TV industry after a long time, said, "Being a Marathi I started off my career in the regional medium but when I got the opportunity to be a part of Hindi TV soaps, I shifted my base completely and I worked here for 5-6 years where I played lead in most of my shows. Since I was getting similar roles, I thought I should start doing something else."
