Plea to inspect all high rise buildings

The BJP's Puducherry unit today asked the Puducherry Planning Authority to inspect all the high rise buildings that have come up here to ascertain their structural stability.
The party's local unit General Secretary R V Swaminathan said in a release here cracks had recently developed in a pillar in the car parking zone of a four-storied building, now under construction close to the ECR, causing panic among the residents in its vicinity.
The PPA should take the incident of the cracks as an eye opener and hold a survey of all the multi-storied buildings in and around the town limits.
