The gunbattle, which lasted for about an hour, began during a police raid, following a tip-off that ultras were holding a meeting about their response to a the ensuing assembly poll in Jharkhand, Superintedent of Police, Sudarshan Prasad Mandal said.
Mandal told newsmen that while the police force fired 49 rounds, the ultras fired over 100 rounds.
However, no casuality or injury was reported and police later recovered three mobile phones, two SIM cards, two rounds of cartridge and articles of daily use from the spot.
