PM condoles BJP MP son's death

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and several other leaders today condoled former Union Minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya son's death.

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the shocking and untimely demise of your son Vaishnav. The entire nation shares your pain and stands with your family in this hour of grief," Modi said in a message to Dattatreya.

"We will remember him as a kind soul who was taken away from us too soon. I pray to the almighty to give you and your family the strength to bear this loss.

"Om Shanti to the departed soul," Modi said in the message.

Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Alphons Kannamthanam, M J Akbar, Ramdas Athawale, Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao and several other leaders conveyed their condolences over phone, BJP sources said.

Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal, Pon Radhakrishnan and other leaders called on Dattatreya at his residence here, they said.

He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, but could not be revived.
