The AAP today accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of harassing it on the pretext of foreign funding and said it seemed that he had decided to shift his priority to eliminate the party, instead of terrorism and Naxalism.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Sanjay Singh criticised the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh on law and order situation.
"The present BJP regime is the SP government part-2, and is working like the previous one. Like during the SP rule, BJP leaders are also indulging in violence at the toll plazas and attacking police," he said.
"Yesterday, the Centre had sent a notice regarding violation of laws pertaining to foreign funding. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs had in 2015 submitted that the AAP's record of foreign funding is impeccable.
"The truth is that both the BJP and the Congress are tainted as they had taken funds from the Vedanta group while violating laws," Singh told reporters here.
He alleged that Kashmir has been suffering from terrorism and Chhattisgarh, but the priority of the Centre seemed to "eliminate" the AAP.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had yesterday asked the Arvind Kejriwal-led party to explain certain fundings from abroad after suspecting that the party might have violated the provisions of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.
Although the ministry had clarified that the communication to the AAP was a "routine query put to all political parties from time-to-time", the party was quick to allege a "witch hunt" by the Modi government.
On the party's debacle in the MCD elections, Singh said, "Certainly the results were not as per our expectations, and we will improve upon our shortcomings.
"But,the fact remains that AAP has been the fastest growing political party in the country. It has formed government in Delhi twice, and is the principal opposition party in Punjab, and has four MPs as well."
Singh was here to review the party's preparations for the upcoming urban local bodies' poll in the state and he held meeting with the AAP's office bearers of Awadh and Poorvanchal region.
