They were joined by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Prakash Javadekar and former and present MPs in offering floral tributes at their portraits in the Members' Reading Room of Parliament House.
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretary General P K Grover and Shumsher K Sheriff also paid floral tributes, an official statement said.
Booklets containing the profiles of Gandhi and Shastri, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, were presented to those present.
