Thanking Modi, Jayalalithaa said in a letter,"I thank you for the concern and good wishes you have expressed in the letter."
The 68-year-old AIADMK leader was admitted to the Apollo hospital here late last night after she complained of fever.
"The Chief Minister (Jayalalithaa) has no fever now and is taking a normal diet. She is under observation," Apollo Hospital's Chief Operating Officer Subbiah Viswanathan said in a press release.

He said, "My best wishes. People's prayers and God's blessings are always with you. I wish you a speedy recovery and pray to God to bring you back in good health enabling you to continue your distinguished service to the people."
She thanked the Governor for his wishes, and said, "I thank you for the concern and the kind sentiments that you have expressed in your letter."
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy also wished speedy recovery to Jayalalithaa.
DMK treasurer MK Stalin, Tamil Maanila Congress chief and former Union Minister GK Vasan, Congress national spokesperson Kushboo Sundar were among a host of others who also wished her a speedy recovery.
