PM's announcement implemented within 15 days: Uma Bharti

Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti today said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of launch of Jan Dhan Yojana on Independence Day has been implemented on the ground less than a fortnight to benefit crores of people of the country.
"This scheme (PMJDY) will be implemented in mission mode and shall cover both urban and rural households. PM announced this Yojan from the rampants of Red Fort on Independence Day has been implemented on the ground less than a forthnight," Bharti said while launching the Yojana in Jammu today.
She said this scheme will be implemented in mission mode and shall cover both urban and rural households.
She also highlighted various features of the scheme like Universal access to banking, Basic Banking accounts with overdraft of up to Rs 5,000, RuPay debit card and accident insurance cover of one lakh, Financial Literacy and Creation of credit guarantee fund for coverage of defaults in overdraft accounts.
Besides Micro Insurance (second phase), Pension scheme Swavlamban for unorganised sector (second phase), Proposal to channel all government benefits to the beneficiaries through accounts, and a demand side pull to be created by Branding and awareness, she said.
