The former Army Chief requested the Power Minister to "convene a meeting on priority basis, wherein the officials of the concerned state governments as well as the Government of India may participate."
He expressed willingness to be invited to the meeting to "place my points for appropriate and suitable action."
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has blamed the Centre for the power crisis in the state.
"The state government is capable of producing electricity itself, but the Central government has not given coal to us. And so, despite signing nine MoUs with several companies, we are not being able to produce power. If the Union government gives us coal, we will start producing power in the state," he said in Kanpur.
