"The decision to connect through radio is an important one. The Prime Minister has always considered radio very important. The way radio can reach 90 per cent of the people, and we will on that day even request the private FM channels to broadcast the Prime Minister's programme. We will provide that feed to them," Javadekar told reporters here.
He expressed hope that people in fields, homes, offices and factories would tune in to listen to the interaction.
It is learnt that Prime Minister's interaction would be recorded and then broadcast.
Earlier through a tweet, the Prime Minister had announced that he will connect with people via a radio programme on the Vijaya Dashmi on October 3.
"Received many ideas and suggestions for my forthcoming radio programme. Have decided to hold the first programme on 3rd October at 11:00 AM," Modi said in a post on social networking site 'twitter' on September 23.
