"There is sufficient proof against him (Bansal). Here is a case where the bribe giver and bribe taker have been caught red handed. One of the accused is Bansal's nephew and he could not be doing the whole thing without the Minister's knowledge," senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar told reporters here, stressing that Bansal, who is Congress MP from Chandigarh, should immediately resign as Railways Minister.
On Congress today brushing aside demands for Bansal's resignation saying it has become a "disease" of the Opposition to make such demands, the BJP leader sarcastically said, "if the Congress thinks that Bansal has done good work, then the government must reward him for that."
"As regards the Congress saying that asking resignations has become disease (of the Opposition), then we want to say that indulging in scams after scams has become a routine habit of the UPA. To put lid on its scams, it has not even spared constitutional bodies like CAG," he said.
"The Congress had projected Dr Manmohan Singh as an able economist, but he too miserably failed and the country's economy is in shambles. Price rise has broken the back of common man," he added.
