To take research innovation to farm fields, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch four new schemes at the 87th foundation day of Indian Council of Agricultural Research to be held at Patna on July 25.
The new schemes -- Farmer First, Student Ready, ARYA and Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (My village, My Pride) will be implemented by the ICAR, the Agriculture Ministry said in a release.
"For the first time, the foundation day of the ICAR is being organised outside New Delhi. The importance of Bihar is more as India's first Agriculture Research and Education Institute (IARI) was established in Bihar nearly 110 years ago at Pusa, Samastipur," the Ministry said.
Besides, the Prime Minister will also release the ICAR Vision 2050 document and will also distribute soil testing kits to three young farm entrepreneurs.
He will also give away 82 ICAR awards to institutions, scientists, teachers, agricultural journalists and farmers.
New Delhi-headquartered ICAR is the largest public sector national agriculture system in the world. It has 100 institutes under its charge, of which four are deemed universities.
