The Prime Minister shared Eid greetings with the BJP leader and his family and met a few Muslims on the occasion. He also posed for photographs and even held Hussain's tiny niece in his arms.
Singh was in a jovial mood during his five-minute stay at Hussain's residence where he did not have lunch but shared only a glass of coconut water. He was expected to attend the Iftar party hosted by Hussain on Saturday but could not attend it and made up with the visit today.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is Hussain's neighbour, was also present during the Prime Minister's visit and was asked by Singh about the happenings at the Maruti factory in Manesar post-violence.
Later, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde also visited Hussain and greeted him on Eid. Shinde also could not make it for Saturday's Iftar party by Hussain.
BJP leader L K Advani, his wife and daughter, besides BJP President Nitin Gadkari, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Uma Bharti, besides other party leaders also attended the Eid celebrations at the BJP leader's residence.
