PMK today took a potshot at DMDK's decision to go it alone in the May 16 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, expressing doubts whether its chief Vijayakanth would stick to the announcement.
PMK Chief Ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss, while talking to reporters here, said that Vijayakanth had aligned with BJP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections after stating that his party would go it alone.
Vijaykanth yesterday announced that his party would contest the coming polls independently, pouring cold water on the hopes of several political parties, including DMK and BJP, which had extended invitation to fight the elections together.
He also claimed that PMK was the only alternative party for the Dravidian majors DMK and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.
PMK, which was part of the NDA in the Lok Sabha elections, has already announced that it would contest the elections alone and declared Ramadoss as its Chief Ministerial candidate well ahead of the poll date announcement.
