Poacher gang kills farmhouse owner's six dogs

: Irked by a farmhouse owner's six dogs preventing them from illegally hunting for peacocks around the area, a poacher gang reportedly killed all of them at Oomachikulam area, police said today.
The owner, in his complaint, said he used to keep three dogs in his house and let out the other three at dusk to the surrounding fields, where peacocks foray in search of food.
The dogs had chased away the poachers a couple of weeks back when they tried to hunt down the peacocks, they said.
Police said investigations led to the discovery of the carcasses of the dogs in the area. All of them had been killed with iron rods and boulders.

They suspect it to be handiwork of the poachers and are on the lookout for the gang.
