Poetry festival at Udupi tomorrow

The ninth edition of the 'Kavita Fest,' the annual poetry festival being organised by Kavita trust formed for the promotion of Konkani poetry, would be held at Chowlikere near Udupi tomorrow.
The festival, to be inaugurated by former diplomat Pascal Alan Nazareth, would also feature recitation of Tamil, Tulu and English poems, a release said.
The Mathias family poetry award would be presented on the occasion to Iqbal Sayeedi from Bhatkal. An essay collection on poetry written by Maxim Lobo would also be released at the festival venue.
Well-known poet Purnanada Chari would preside over the poetry session. An interaction session with Sahitya Akademi award winning poet Ramesh Veluskar has also been arranged. Goan poet Madhav Borcar would be the chief guest at the valedictory function, the release said.
