Refugees from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir today held a rally here demanding ownership rights of land and property and threatened to go on indefinite hunger strike from November 4.
About 200 refugees held a protest rally at Press Club Jammu and raised slogans against the government.
PoK Refugee Front President Yudhvir Singh Chib, who led the protest, alleged that displaced persons are waiting since l947 for their grievances to be redressed which are long outstanding for the past 65 years and nothing has been done both by the state as well as central government.
"Refugees have almost lost their patience and have now decided to resort to hunger strike from November 4 to press for their demands," Chib said.
The refugees' demands included financial assistance, quota for their wards in professional and technical education besides government jobs, regulation of refugee localities, reservation in state assembly and registration of left-out families.
