Police arrest five gang members wanted in murder case

With the arrest of five persons, police today claimed to have busted a gang of robbers involved in the murder of a truck driver.
The arrests were made near Sahajipur railway crossing on Amethi-Pratapgarh road, SP Amethi Hira Lal said.
The accused had allegedly murdered a truck driver and looted a loaded truck on the night of October 21-22 near Kanaksinghpur on Amethi-Musafirkhana road under police station Munshiganj.
The accused have confessed to their involvement in the crime, Lal added.
Two country-made pistols, four live cartridges, a knife and three mobile sets were recovered from their possession, he said.
The goods of the loot, including plastic pipes and sockets, worth Rs 8 lakh were recovered from the culprits, the SP said, adding the accused were wanted in many cases.
The accused have been identified as Ajay Shukla alias Guddu (the kingpin) of Pratapgarh, Abhishek Pandey alias Golu of Raebareli, Santosh Kumar, Sunil Kumar Singh and Pappu alias Kamlesh of Amethi district.
The SP has announced a cash award of five thousand rupees for the police team.
