Police arrest six auto-lifters active in NCR

With the arrest of six persons, police today claimed to have busted a gang of auto-lifters active in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad.
The arrested are - Aamir Khan, a resident of Ghaziabad, Sanjay, a resident of Bulandshar, Shahrukh Khan, Zalaluddin, Wahid and Sagir, all hailing from Gautam Budh Nagar district and aged between 22 and 35 years.
"Police received a tip-off that some wanted auto-lifters were coming towards industrial area of Kavi Nagar last night. Police laid a trap and arrested all six accused, who have confessed to their involvement in numerous auto-lifting cases," said a senior police officer.
Police recovered 12 stolen bikes and four knives from their possession, the officer said, adding that the accused used to lift bikes and cars in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad and sell them in other cities by changing their number plates.

"We are now interrogating all arrested about the hideouts of other gang members, who would be arrested soon," the officer added.
