According to the police, the boy went missing on September 15 and a case of abduction was registered at the South Campus police station. A day latter a passer-by saw the semi-nude body of the boy hanging from a tree and called up the police control room.
"It was blind murder case as his father who work as a labour refused any enmity. Eight teams were formed to crack the case," a senior police officer said.
"The investigating team zeroed in Chaman Lal alias Lamboo who was friendly with children of the area and used to spend a part of earning by distributing sweets and eatables among them," the officer said.
During the investigation it was found that victim was last seen with Chaman Lal at a tea shop where he purchased a piece of sweet for the boy. They were also spotted going towards Ring Road.

"Rag picker followed him and saw Chaman Lal started molesting the boy who started crying. Out of fear he (rag-picker) ran away from the ridge," police said.
Rag-picker also revealed to the police that Chaman also sodomised him in the past. After series of raids Chaman Lal was arrested from a jungle near Gurudwara Nanak Pura. He used to work as daily labourer.
