Two collection agents, identified as Raj Kumar Kannojia and Dinesh, of a private technology firm were allegedly robbed of Rs 65 lakh cash, by robbers who waylaid their scooter and fled in motorcycles. Investigation was taken up immediately and two teams were formed, said DCP (Northwest) Vijay Singh.
When police went through the employee records at the concerned firm where the complainant and his colleague worked as collection agents, it emerged that one employee, Dinesh, who had quit his job around a year ago had joined again. Dinesh spilled the beans during questioning.
While Deepak, Nakul and Deepak Kumar are first year students in Delhi University, the others are mostly school drop-outs and unemployed, said Singh, adding that one of the accused, identified as Vasu, who is also a Delhi University student, is absconding.
They called themselves the Dhoom Gang after the popular Bollywood movie and moved on motorbikes, including a highly expensive KTM DUKE sportsbike. They also performed stunts in nearby localities without any prior training, Singh added.
