Police arrests two people allegedly involved in woman's murder

The city police nabbed two accused today, for being allegedly involved in the murder of a 65-year-old woman, a police official announced here today.
Battiprolu Andalamma, a widow and retired head nurse, was murdered at her Abidnagar residence in the Akkayyapalem area of the city on Monday night.
The police arrested those accused, three days after the murder and seized 125 grams of stolen gold ornaments valued at Rs 1.12 lakh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crimes) T Ravi Kumar Murthy told reporters here.
The accused have been identified as Urla Satish Kumar (20), an autorickshaw driver of Akkayyapalem area as well as his friend Piradi Dhana Raju (32) of Tuni area in the East Godavari district, who presently resides in the Abidnagar area and runs a mobile phone shop at Daba Gardens in the city, he said.
The police official said that Satish Kumar, took to theft to finance his vices to fund his habits. He was involved in a theft under IV Town police station limits, a robbery case under PM Palem police station limits and a snatching case under III-Town police station limits in the city earlier.
Satish Kumar used to sell stolen mobile phones to Dhana Raju, who resided opposite Andalamma's house at Abidnagar area in the city, he said.
Dhana Raju was also involved in a theft case in 2008 under IV Town police station limits in the city.
Both Satish Kumar and Dhana Raju who became friends, decided to commit a crime to overcome their financial problems, he said.
