Police arrests two suspected robbers from South Delhi

Two persons have been arrested from near Chhattarpur in South Delhi for their alleged involvement in various robbery and snatching cases in the national capital and adjoining areas, police said today.
With the arrest of Aashu (25) and Aash Mohd (26) yesterday on a tip-off, police claim to have busted a gang of robbers who were active in Delhi and Noida.
Two Italian made automatic pistols, eight bullets, a robbed Swift car and some stolen gold articles have also been recovered from them, they said.
According to police, the duo were arrested from near Chhattarpur in South Delhi on a tip-off that a gang of robbers would be passing through the area in a car.
Acting on the input, a police barricade was set up to screen the vehicles passing through the area and the duo's car was identified, a Delhi police official said, adding the two in their bid to sped away lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the barricades.
During interrogation, both confessed to have committed several robberies.
They also confessed that they belong to gang of Farooq Pehlwan and Firoz Fauzi, police said.
