Police asked to be alert in wake of Apr 30 strike

Haryana Director General of Police Yashpal Singhal today asked field officers to take all precautionary measures to prevent any law and order problem in the wake of the proposed strike by employees of Haryana Roadways, operators of private buses and taxis from April 30.
Singhal gave these directions while addressing all District Superintendents of Police, Commissioners of Police and Range Inspectors General of Police through video-conference from here today.
DGP directed them to ensure smooth plying of buses and to provide protection to the willing drivers and conductors who want to run the buses.
He also asked them to maintain proper co-ordination with the civil officers, Duty Magistrates, Roadways officials and other stakeholders.
He said maximum deployment of force under the direct supervision of senior officers should be done for maintaining law and order and ensuring smooth flow of traffic.
All-India Road Transport Workers' Federation (AITWF) has given a call to observe a nationwide chakka jam on April 30 against the provisions of Transport and Road Safety Bill.
The Haryana Roadways will also participate in the strike and the roadways buses will remain off road that day.
