Police band to enthral Delhiites this weekend

Delhiites can savour some fine military music this weekend as an assortment of jazz, brass and pipe bands of the Indian police and paramilitary forces will regale the public at popular hangouts in the national capital.
The musical orchestra, under the banner of 'Indian Police Bands', will be held on March 14-16 from 4 PM to 6.30 PM and entry is free.
The locations will be Select City Walk Mall Saket, Dilli Haat, INA and DLF Promenade Vasant Kunj on March 14, Central Park in Connaught Place on March 15 and India Gate lawns on the last day on March 16.

"In putting the event together, an attempt has been made to capture the spirit of India through the kaleidoscope of the evolving film and folk music from the 1950s to the present day. The police bands participating in this show have secured top positions in the recently concluded All India Police Band Championship held at Guwahati in February 2014," an official release said.
