Cultural affairs minister Vinod Tawde said the performances would be held from 7 pm to 8 pm every Sunday till June 15.
The idea was to get the children off TV screens on Sunday evenings, Tawde said.
"The people would get to listen to guard of honour tunes played by the police band during flag-hoisting and lowering and other ceremonies," the minister said.
In addition, a documentary on Bharat Ratna, Dnyanapeeth, Maharashtra Bhushan and Paran Vir Chakra awardees from Maharashtra will be shown.
The program would be held at P L Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy premises in Mumbai, Shaniwarwada in Pune, Rankala lake in Kolhapur, Talav Pali in Thane and Connaught garden in Aurangabad, among other places.
Asked about this year's Maharashtra Bhushan award nominee, Tawde said two or three names were in consideration and the decision would be taken after the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis returns from a foreign tour on April 29.
