Police bust gang of ATM looters

Four persons of a six-member gang allegedly involved in looting bank ATMs were arrested today and Rs 80,000 in half burnt currency notes was recovered from them, police said.
During preliminary investigations they confessed to having looted Rs 14 lakh from an ATM of a public sector bank at Sahnewal on the outskirts of the city, Police Commissioner N S Dhillon said.
Two members of the gang, including the kingpin, were absconding, police said, adding that all the members belonged to Ferozepur cantonment area.
Some ATMs have been looted in different parts of Punjab in the recent past.
