Police bust gang suspected to be involved in poaching

With the arrest of three persons and recovery of arms from them, police today claimed to have busted a criminal gng suspected to be involved in poaching from a forest near this south Odisha city.
A mauser, two country made guns, six live ammunition, three swords and a black buck horn were seized from the gang members after police arrested them in an operation on Thursday, they said quoting a delayed report.
The accused were identified as Kuna Behera, Kalia Das and Rama Gouda, police said adding Kuna was allegedly involved in around 20 different heinous crimes in different police stations in Ganjam district. Earlier two of the gang members had been arrested by the police.
Police suspected that the gang might be involved in hunting of wild animals including blackbuck, sambar and wild boar and selling their meat and body parts like horn and hide.
