Police today claimed to have unearthed an alleged attempt by an assistant public prosecutor to help some accused in the sensational rape of a minor girl by 100 odd men over a period of time in 2010, a charge denied by him.
Assistant Public Prosecutor Ayub Khan allegedly attempted to influence the case by seeking bribe from some of the accused, sources in the Crime Branch police said.
The sources said police have "secured strong evidences" to establish the charge against him.
However, when approached by some local TV channels, Khan denied any kind of malpractice by him.
