Police claims to have busted interstate fake currency racket

The police claimed to have busted an interstate fake currency racket today, following the arrest four people and seizure of counterfeit currency notes with a face value of Rs 12 lakh, in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district.
Acting on a tip-off, the accused were apprehended from Lailunga police station limits today while they were allegedly trying to circulate fake currency in the industrial areas of the district, Raigarh Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhagat told PTI.
Those arrested have been identified as Sudhan Ram Yadav (37) as well as Lalindra Yadav (23), both native of Jashpur district, besides Dukhbandhu Nayak (40) and Parmanand Banchore (40), who are residents of Sambalpur (Odisha), the SP said.
After receiving information about the movement of four people on two motorbikes to circulate counterfeit notes in the industrial areas of Gharghoda, Punjipathra and Tamnar, a crime branch team along with the Lailunga police nabbed them near Laripani village, the police official said.
Fake currency notes with a face value of Rs 12 lakh in denominations of Rs 1,000 and two motorcycles which they used have been seized, the police official said.
A case has been registered in this connection, he said, adding that a further probe is on.
