Police today claimed to have cracked the mystery behind a blind woman's murder which took place here three years ago, after the arrest of two suspects.
Accused Afghan Sheikh (35) and Imran (36), charged with killing Leela Keer (35), were arrested last night, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Dilip Soni said today.
Leela's body was found in a box on MR 10 road on June 27, 2011.
However, since the deceased couldn't be identified, the case was closed.
Later, the police got a lead that Leela was friendly to Afghan and Imran. During investigation, it came to light that the deceased had come down to her native place here from Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district after the death of her husband, Soni said.
She got friendly with a driver Imran, who began living with her in the Khajrana area, but when Imran didn't give divorce to his wife to marry her, Leela parted ways with him, the ASP said.
Thereafter, she fell in love with Imran's friend Afghan, and started living with him, he said.
The duo had a fight after which Afghan allegedly smothered her and took Imran's help to bundle her body into an empty TV box and threw it on the roadside, he said.
