The Commissioner of Police BS Bassi unveiled the stage II trial of the MV Theft App at Delhi Police Headquarters, facilitating online lodging and downloading of FIRs for vehicles stolen in the national capital.
The web based App will later also be developed further to enable its use through mobile phones, he said.
"An e-Police Station has been established for lodging these electronic FIRs. The application can be accessed through computer and tablets and will later be available in the form of an App on mobile phones," he said.
A time bound closure of undetected cases with seamless acceptance of the same by a competent Court is part of the system so that the complainant can file an insurance claim on timely receipt of the closure report in 21 days.
Delhi High Court and district courts have designated Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate-I of all the 11 districts as e-Courts to accept the Final Reports, Bassi said.
