Police constable attempts suicide

A 26-year-old Tamil Nadu Special Police constable today attempted to commit suicide allegedly vexed over some issues related to his job.
Sureshkumar, who joined the TSP's sixth battallian at Kovaipudur near Coimbatore two years ago, has been on security duty at Mettur Thermal power plant for the last two months. He was staying at a camp nearby the plant, police said.
Vexed over some issues related to his work, he consumed poison last night, they said but did not elaborate.
He was immediately admitted to the Mettur Government Hospital, where doctors said he was out of danger.
