Police constable gets two years in jail in graft case

The district and sessions court here today sentenced a police constable to two years' rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case.
District judge N K Brahme also imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on police constable Shivaji Kacharu Sanap. If the fine is not paid he will have to undergo further four months' jail term.
Sanap was attached to Dindori police station in Nashik district when he was caught by the anti-corruption bureau while taking a bribe of Rs 1,500 on January 7, 2010.
According an ACB press release, he had demanded the bribe for not taking action on a police complaint.
