The accused, identified as Vikram Mukati, was posted in 34th Battalion, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Ranjana Dhurve said.
As per the complaint filed by the victims, Mukati, in an inebriated condition, today waylaid and tried to molest the three girls while they were returning from college, she said.
The accused, however, refuted the charge and told reporters that he was merely telling the girls to return to their homes safely.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC, she said, adding further investigation is on.
