A Special Investigation Team (SIT) today arrested two persons in this connection, one of them (accused persons) is the son of a policeman.
ASP Rakesh Kumar and his bodyguard Suresh Yadav were injured when two motorcycle-borne miscreants shot at the policemen while they were on patrol on October 9 (2015) in Chhajubagh area under Kotwali police station of the town.
The ASP and his bodyguard, who were treated at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), are out of danger.

Both accused persons have no criminal antecedents, Thakur said and added that the duo told the SIT during the interrogation that they had an altercation with some other youths for show of supremacy on the day of incident.
The two- Amit and Rohit- were returning to their home when the police chased them after which they opened fire considering the police as opponents, he said.
While talking about another incident of firing on ASP of Rohtas district in which he was injured few days back, DGP said that police are investigating the matter.
The police have not so far got any credible evidence to suggest that it was a criminal act, rather it seemed more of an accidental case, Thakur said.
Notably, even the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned the incident of firing on ASP of Patna in one of his rallies in Bihar to drive home his point that the law and order situation was very bad in Bihar.
