Delhi Police today filed its charge sheet against four accused persons in connection with BJP leader Arun Jaitley's phone tapping case.
The special cell of Delhi Police filed the 32-page charge sheet before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Bansal, who took cognisance of the final report and posted the matter for further proceeding on April 30.
The police has named Delhi Police constable Arvind Dabas and three private detectives -- Anurag, Neeraj, and Nitish -- who all are in judicial custody in connection with the case.
The investigating officer (IO) told the court that they are yet to receive various forensic reports and the records of the mobile service provider, after which the court directed the police to expedite their investigation.
"The IO has submitted that the report from the FSL, CFSL and mobile service operators is yet to be submitted. The IO is directed to expedite (the probe) and file the said reports on record at the earliest. IO is already directed to supply the copy of charge sheet and documents to all the four accused persons," the CMM said.
The police in its charge sheet has booked the accused under sections 420 (cheating), 464 (making a false document), 467 (forgery of a valuable security), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC and under section 66 of the Information Technology Act.
The police has filed around 1000 pages of documents along with the charge sheet and has named 36 persons as prosecution witnesses in the case.
