Police fire in the air to disperse violent mob in Bihar

Police said a large number of local people demanding arrest of the killers assembled in front of the D C's office and clashed with the policemen.

They burnt an anti-riot vehicle and that of the block development officer, besides two private ones before indulging in heavy stone throwing.

Police fired eight rounds in the air to disperse the mob but none were injured.

Later, 18 people were taken into custody in connection with the violence, the police said.

Devendra Singh of Sonehatta panchayat was killed by unidentified persons last month and his killers are yet to be apprehended. PTI CORR AJK KK
