A K Mittal, DIG, said that Inspector Narang Singh, posted at Batala, has been dismissed from service invoking relevant provisions due to his alleged involvement in the case which was registered against him under various Sections of the IPC earlier.
The Inspector was accused of kidnapping and keeping life convict Bikramjit Singh in police custody illegally without following the lawful procedure.
Meanwhile, Gurpreet Singh Gill, SSP, Amritsar (rural) has also dismissed constables Amandeep Singh and Lakhwinder Singh in the kidnapping case of Bikramjit Singh.
Bikramjit was undergoing life imprisonment for the last one decade in the Amritsar Central Jail and had been counted as missing for the last two weeks as he was whisked away by the group of policemen.

Aulakh had told mediapersons earlier that Bikramjit was whisked away by the Batala police without following the lawful procedure, interrogated inhumanly whereupon he died in custody.
It was police team led by Inspector Narang Singh who laid the trap, whisked away Bikramjit to Batala town where he was interrogated throughout the night and died during torture in police custody, the Amritsar police investigation had found out.
