Police Inspector gets sentence in bribery case
Press Trust of India Dharmapuri A court here today sentenced Pandiya Raja, who was the Inspector of Police in Karimangalam station in the district, to two years and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 in connection with a bribery charge.
He is due to retire on May 31 this year.
He was arrested few years back while accepting Rs 7,000 as bribe from Samayaraj for doing a favour in a land dispute case.
Chief Judicial Magistrate S Sreedaran convicted the inspector to two years and imposed a fine of Rs 5000.
