Police today resorted to mild lathi charge on cricket fans who had come to buy tickets for the second ODI between India and South Africa to be played here, after they went berserk.
Eye-witnesses claim that the fans damaged the railing and entry gate of a bank at Y N Road.
The trouble started when tickets were sold at a bank branch. "We dismissed the crowd and brought the situation under control," an official with Indore police said.
The city is hosting ODI after a gap of four years. The capacity of the Holkar stadium is 27,000.
