Police nab cattle thieves, recover stolen bovines

A cattle thief, alongwith his one accomplice, was arrested and a cow, a calf, and a stolen truck recovered from them, police said today.
Acting on a tip off, the police arrested Rashid alias Machchi and Afzal near Govind Puram police post last night, SHO Ashok Shisodia said.
Police seized iIllegal arms and cartridges and a truck in which they were ferrying the cattle, he said.
Upon questioning, Rashid has confessed to have stolen the cow and oxen from Raj Nagar last week, the SHO said, adding the vehicle was also stolen, from Rohini in Delhi, for which a case is registered in the same police station.

Shishodia said Rashid carries a reward of Rs 5000 on his head for his alleged involvement in several crimes like dacoity and stealing bovines and butchering them.
