Police said Manoj is already married and has two children. He is separated from his wife and has been living alone for the past three months.
During investigations police learnt that the 19-year-old girl had eloped some time back with Manoj, they stayed in Bihar for 5-6 days after which they returned. The girl's father had also filed a missing report with the police.
"After returning from Bihar she told police that she had gone with Manoj voluntarily. However, after some time she stopped talking to Manoj and refused to marry him. Infuriated by this, Manoj threw acid on her. We are also trying to find out from where procured acid," the official said.
