Police nabs five robbers

Five notorious thieves, allegedly involved in several cases of snatching and vehicle lifting were arrested in North East District, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off that the five criminals were headed towards Dishad Garden, police laid a trap near Tahirpur yesterday.
Five persons on two motorcycles were spotted trying to flee from police checking.
Police chased them and caught the criminals identified as Kishan aka Babloo, Wasim, Shamim, Pushpender and Deepak aka Devender.
Country made firearms and live cartridges were recovered from them, said Veenu Bansal, DCP of North East District Police.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Kishan headed the gang and has previous criminal involvements along with Wasim and Shamim.

The arms and ammunitions used by the gang were procured by Kishan from UP. He had also taken a rented flat in Viswash Nagar area for the stay of the gang, Bansal said.
Shamim who was involved in a dacoity in Gandhi Nagar area had recently been released from jail after 5 years, he said.
The gang members were involved in several criminal cases registered at police stations in Delhi and UP, he added.
