Police nabs four alleged peddlers

Four alleged drug peddlers were today arrested along with a large quantity of codeine phosphate in Bandipora district of North Kashmir, police said.
Tanveer Ahmad Rather and Parveez Ahmad Rather, both residents of Nesbal, Ashraf Wani of Tulmulla and Hilal Ahmad Wani of Wangipora were travelling in a private car which was intercepted by a police party on a specific information at Shilvat crossing in Sumbal, 35 kms from here, a police spokesman said.
The search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 800 codeine phosphate bottles which were being transported from Srinagar to Sumbal for sale among the drug addicted youth, the spokesman said.
He said all the four were arrested and booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
